University Grant Commission (UGC) has written a letter to Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) reiterating that all central universities have to mandatory adopt entrance tests for admission.
For CUET-2023 the AMU has decided to participate in a limited number of courses, it did the same last year also. But UGC clearly mentioned using CUET scores for admission to provide equal opportunities to aspiring candidates.
The representative of AMU said they didn’t receive any specific instructions from the commission and therefore they continue on the same pattern adopted by the university last year.
Last year, UGC gave permission to a couple of central universities to use CUET score for admission in limited courses because then the exam was newer. But for 2023, all universities are required to adopt CUET scores.
