Statistics related to 2022 Results and Admissions

Around 90 universities participate in the CUET (UG) exam. Students could select any number of universities at the time of admission. Check the result and admission stats below.

  • <green> 12 candidates <green> topped the CUET exam by scoring <green> 100 percentile <green> in at least five papers and they all are from CBSE-affiliated schools.
  • Students wanted to study popular courses at the University of Delhi, such as Political Science, B.Com, History, Economics and Psychology
  • Results also show that more students opted for Humanities than Science subjects.
  • Highest number of students take admission in Delhi University with 6,63,776 applications, followed by Banaras Hindu University with 4,34,140 applications and Allahabad University with 2,62,488 admissions.

CUET 2022 Paper Pattern (UG)

In the 2022 exam, there were three sections.

  • Section IA for 13 different languages and Section IB for 20 languages (apart from those offered in section IA)

NOTE: Candidates were allowed to choose the medium of the test from 13 languages, even then, English topped the list with 6.9 lakh, followed by Hindi with 2 lakh selections. Also, as per the stats of smaller states in terms of population, only 15,122 students participated from Arunachal Pradesh whose population is around 15.5 lakh.

  • Section II – Domain (27 specific subjects)
  • Section III – General Test (compulsory for all programmes)

The difficulty level of questions were different as the exam was conducted into six phases. Here is an overall difficulty level of the exam.

CUET Topics & Weightage

Section 1 (A & B): Language Test

For language, mostly students opted for English Language for which the paper had 3 passages with 6 questions each. Most questions were direct and easy to answer but some questions had very close answers, which needed analytical skills to solve. Students had 45 minutes to complete 40 questions out of 50 questions.

Section 2: Domain-specific Subject

Students had to choose a maximum of 6 domain subjects out of 27 subjects. In Phase 1 (July) NTA covered the Commerce and Humanities subjects whereas the Science subjects were covered in Phase 2 (August). This was because JEE and NEET students had their specific entrance exams in the mid of July. 

We have received a mixed reaction from Commerce students. On one hand, they were happy because the Accountancy paper level was easy to moderate while on the other hand, Economics paper was quite tough and lengthy.

The students had to attempt 40 questions out of 50 questions. All in all, the exam was easy to solve and scored good marks. Check the table to know the topics that came in the physics paper.

Section 3: General Test

Students had to attempt 60 questions out of 75 questions within 60 minutes. Again, the level of questions was easy to moderate, and it mainly covered General Awareness and Numerical Ability questions.
