How do I know if it's gas or appendicitis?

Question:

Where exactly is appendix pain felt?

Answer:

Gas pain usually comes and goes, while appendicitis pain steadily worsens over time. Gas-related discomfort improves after passing gas or having a bowel movement, but appendicitis pain stays constant and sharpens.

Difference Checklist

  • Gas: temporary bloating, relieved after passing gas.
  • Appendicitis: steady, sharp pain in lower right abdomen.
  • If pain worsens and is accompanied by nausea or fever → seek medical help.
