Teachers Back to School! Yes, you heard that right - this time, the teachers were the students!
On 28th April 2025, Vijaya International School, located near Bichpuri X-ing, Shastripuram, Agra, turned into a buzzing learning space, twist is - not for the students, but for the teachers themselves. In a refreshing change of roles, 20 teachers came together for a powerful training workshop led by educational expert Mr. Nishant Lakhra under the leadership of Principal Mr. Farooq Khan, focused on Competency-Based Education (CBE) and the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The day kicked off with a fun and thoughtful ice-breaker where teachers reflected on real moments from their classrooms. This simple activity set the mood for the rest of the session—it reminded everyone that real learning happens when teaching is student-focused, meaningful, and flexible.
The workshop wasn't just a boring lecture. Instead, it was full of interactive discussions, group tasks, and hands-on planning activities that helped teachers understand how CBE works. The main idea? It’s not about students just memorising answers anymore—it's about helping them build skills they can use in real life, like problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork.
1. Learning with understanding: Teachers explored how to shift from rote learning to more skill-based teaching.
2. Understanding NEP 2020: The session broke down the key changes in India’s education policy and how it encourages creative, student-led learning.
3. Collaborative lesson planning: Teachers teamed up to design lessons that are engaging, fun, and meaningful for students.
4. Smarter assessments: The group learned how to use regular feedback and simple tools like rubrics instead of relying only on final exams.
5. Inclusive learning: The focus was on making classrooms comfortable for all types of learners with different speeds and styles.
6. Teachers as changemakers: The session showed that when teachers grow, classrooms transform.
Best part is, the school continues to support teachers through such Continuous Professional Development (CPD) sessions, making sure they stay updated and inspired. The workshop ended on a high note, with teachers feeling more confident, creative, and ready to bring change into their classrooms.
Workshops like these prove that learning never really stops and when teachers evolve, students benefit the most.
