Guess what happened at the government schools in Gurugram? Well! Educart, along with SKF and Agastya Foundation, rolled out a career guidance program for Classes VIII to X - and it proved to be a meaningful experience.
Students got to explore different career options, figure out their strengths, and use psychometric tests - all in a fun and interactive way. The sessions weren’t just about learning; they were about discovering oneself, feeling inclusive, and getting a sneak peek at your future opportunities.
Our story begins in schools where educational resources are often limited, and reaching students isn’t always easy. The journey brought Educart, with support from Agastya International Foundation, to Government Sr. Sec. School, Kanhai, Gurugram, and other nearby schools.
Students quickly noticed that something exciting was happening:
Even in schools with limited resources, the program sparked interest and achieved nearly full attendance, proving that students are eager to learn when opportunities reach them.
Getting students to show up isn’t always easy - but this time, it worked like magic. Bright posters around the school and WhatsApp messages sent through teachers spread the word fast.
Students were curious, excited, and ready to be part of something new. The result? Nearly 90% attendance - a number that’s tough to reach even during exams or big school events.
This high attendance wasn’t just luck. It showed how a simple, smart outreach plan - combining visuals, teacher support, and easy communication - can motivate students to participate. More importantly, it reflected how eager students are to get career guidance, explore future paths, and understand their strengths when opportunities reach them directly.
The day began with an interactive orientation session, designed to make students feel comfortable and included. They learned what career paths will match their interests and strengths - not just follow what everyone else chooses.
This was followed by a psychometric test, a major highlight of the day. Students answered questions that revealed their:
All responses were marked on OMR sheets, giving students a real taste of the kind of format used in competitive exams and entrance tests.
Throughout the process, our lead career counselor Anubhav Rakheja guided the students, explained each step clearly, and made sure they understood what their results could mean for future stream and career choices.
By the end, students didn’t just finish a test - they gained clarity about themselves and learned how to connect their strengths with meaningful career options.
When almost 90% of students show up for something that isn’t an exam or a compulsory event, it says a lot. It means students aren’t just attending - they’re actively choosing to be there. And that’s huge.
Here’s what this turnout really tells us:
1. Students chose to be there: This wasn’t a forced session or a random announcement. They showed up because it mattered to them.
2. They want real guidance: Students today aren’t looking for boring lectures. They want clear, relatable info about careers, skills, and their future.
3. Right communication works: Simple WhatsApp updates + eye-catchy posters = students actually paying attention.
4. Curiosity is at its peak: When the opportunities feel relevant, students are excited to explore and ask questions.
5. It’s more than attendance: This turnout shows a shift - students are ready to take charge of their future when they’re given the right push.
A big shoutout to SKF for funding this program and Agastya Foundation for helping us bring it to life on the ground. Without them, students wouldn’t have had this chance to explore careers and discover their strengths.
And of course, Anubhav Rakheja, our lead career counselor, deserves a special thanks for guiding everyone so patiently and making the sessions fun and useful. Thanks to all of them, students walked away feeling inspired, confident, and ready to take the next steps toward their future!
