Ryan International School in Noida Extension hosted a CPD Teachers Training Workshop on Active Learning. The session was led by Ms. Geetika Wahi, a Google Certified Trainer and CBSE Resource Person, and was coordinated by BDM Hrithik. The workshop focused on a big problem in many classrooms today, students sitting quietly while the teacher talks, which might look good but doesn't mean students are actually learning deeply.
Ms. Wahi explained the shift from passive learning to active learning. Passive learning is when students just listen, take notes, and memorize. Active learning is when students participate, discuss, ask questions, work in groups, and apply what they learn to real situations. She introduced innovative teaching methods that make classrooms more engaging and interactive. Teachers learned how to design lessons where students are doing things, not just watching things happen. The focus was on collaboration, getting students to work together and learn from each other, critical thinking, making students analyze and solve problems instead of accepting everything as fact, and real life application, showing students how classroom concepts connect to the world outside school. Ms. Wahi didn't just lecture about these ideas. Ms. Wahi provided ready to use tools and activities that teachers could implement immediately without spending hours on extra preparation. The session was highly interactive and motivating. Teachers left feeling inspired and excited to change their teaching style from traditional lecture mode to dynamic, experiential methods where students are active participants in their own learning. The workshop aligned perfectly with modern teaching standards that focus on making education more engaging, meaningful, and effective for today's students.
