On 7th September 2025, Indore became the hub of English pedagogy as Educart organized a workshop titled Learner Engagement Strategies in the Teaching of English at Hotel Sayaji. The session, conducted by Ms. Ruchi Sengar - CBSE Subject Expert, Master Trainer, and NCERT Textbooks’ Author gathered English educators from across the city for a three-hour immersive training.
The workshop combined pedagogy with hands-on practice. Ms. Sengar guided teachers through structured strategies for pre-reading, while-reading, and post-reading stages, allowing them to empathize with learner challenges. Participants applied these strategies to unseen texts, mapped them to NCERT content, and collaborated in the “Own-the-Strategy Challenge” to adapt methods for their own classrooms.
The session also introduced innovative feedback practices such as “two thorns and a rose,” ensuring that teachers left with practical tools to empower their students. The interactive nature of the program, from ice breakers to reflective Q&A, made the workshop both engaging and transformative.
Educators praised the workshop’s real-world relevance. One participant, shared:
“The sessions were thoughtfully designed - Ruchi Ma’am’s engaging methodology demonstrations, the rich exchange of ideas, and the practical activities made each moment interactive and relevant. I am taking back plenty of ready-to-use approaches and renewed inspiration. Highly recommended for every English educator!”
With its focus on learner-centered strategies, this workshop marked an important step toward transforming English classrooms into vibrant, student-driven spaces where learning is both meaningful and empowering.
