According to the new update from the Central Board of Secondary Education, it is clearly indicated that there will no longer be separate Hindi A and Hindi B courses in grade 9. A unified Hindi course for all the students will be released. 

Until the revised textbooks are officially released, this article continues to provide the complete syllabus details from both Hindi A and Hindi B courses previously prescribed by CBSE.

Students and teachers can refer to the existing structure - including Kshitij, Kritika, Sparsh, and Sanchayan - for academic preparation, internal assessments, and exam readiness.

CBSE Class 9 Hindi Syllabus 2026-27 Overview

CBSE offers two options - Hindi Course A (Code 002) and Hindi Course B (Code 085). While both follow a similar exam structure, they differ slightly in textbooks and difficulty level.

Hindi A focuses primarily on Hindi literature, in-depth text analysis, classical poetry, and prose. In course B, the focus is on practical language use, meaningful literature, and helping students connect with Hindi as a language.

Section 1: Reading Skills - अपठित बोध (10 Marks)

This section tests how well you understand an unseen passage.

  • Unseen prose or factual passage

Section 3: Grammar in Use - व्याकरण (15 Marks)

Grammar questions are always application-based, not definition-based.
