CBSE has rebuild the Class 9 Hindi more significantly than almost any other subject this year:
- They have been discontinued the previous four-textbook pattern - Kshitij, Sparch, Kritika, and Sanchayan. The CBSE-notified syllabus is now combined into one single book Ganga with covering 12 chapters: 7 for गद्य and 5 for काव्य.
- By replacing the entire old Hindi Course A/B split, they have introduced a new language curriculum under two levels. R1, primary and more extensive language and R2, secondary, functional and simpler, under the National Educational Policy (NCF 2023).
- Traditionally, Grammar focuses on direct, rule-driven questions, which are now assessed in context (Error correction, editing, and sentence formation).
- The exam paper consists of 100 marks in total (80 for theory and 20 for internal assessment), but the internal sectional weightage is now moved toward reading and contextual grammar.
- Schools or students who are still adhering to the old Hindi guide based on Kshitij or Sparsh should switch to the Ganga-based resource immediately. As these chapters broadly intersect in content, follow a different numbering and are tested differently under the latest pattern.
