On 27th September 2025, Sant Nirankari Public School, Nirankari Colony organised a Teachers’ Training Workshop on Promoting Mental Health and Wellness among Students, led by Ms. Neera Kohli (CBSE Resource Person).

The workshop addressed a very relevant theme in today’s education landscape — student mental health. Teachers welcomed the session with enthusiasm, actively engaging with the speaker and appreciating the insights shared.

Ms. Kohli highlighted that academic success cannot be viewed in isolation from students’ emotional and psychological wellbeing. She stressed the need for teachers to notice early signs of stress, anxiety, or withdrawal, and to approach students with empathy and supportive interventions.

Practical strategies were discussed, including incorporating short mindfulness activities in the classroom, creating open communication channels, and designing lesson environments that reduce unnecessary pressure. Through relatable real-life examples, she demonstrated how teachers can balance discipline with care, ensuring that classrooms become safe spaces for both learning and self-expression. The session also underlined the importance of teachers’ own wellbeing, as their state of mind directly impacts classroom energy and student engagement.

Principal’s Feedback

The Principal, Ms. Ranjana Grover, praised the initiative and expressed her satisfaction with the workshop’s outcomes. She suggested building on this training by introducing career counselling sessions and student booklet activities to continue addressing students’ overall growth. The school extended its gratitude to Educart for facilitating the workshop at short notice, ensuring that the teachers received timely and impactful training on such a sensitive and important topic.
