Chennai Governor convened meeting about implementing NEP in Kendriya Vidyalayas

Meeting in Chennai on NEP 2020

On June 17, Chennai Governor R.N. Ravi convened a meeting of principals of Kendriya Vidyalayas in Chennai at Raj Bhavan. The agenda of the meeting was “how to implement NEP in Kendriya Vidyalayas”. 

The Governor shows a presentation and gives an overview of how to implement NEP 2020 in schools and classes. Entry-level assessments, FIT India movement by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) is the key mode to shape the children at the school level. 

He said that more teachers of Kendriya Vidyalayas should undergo training at the Southern Regional Orientation Training Centre, Mysore. This will give teachers an idea about NEP that will be helpful in effective and comprehensive teaching of students. 

The Governor also felt it was the right time to implement the NEP in schools that have been rolled out to develop the nation as ‘The Knowledge Capital’ of the world. He emphasised that there was a need to implement NEP in letter and spirit to reap the benefits of improving the capabilities and potential knowledge with skills of the students to enable them to compete and conquer.

The Governor listens to all the issues and problem areas that need attention such as digital platforms at the school level, infrastructure facilities, students and teacher ratio, scarcity of trained teachers and so on - in implementing NEP in Kendriya Vidyalayas.
