The New Education Policy (NEP 2020) will be implemented in the higher education institutes and colleges all over Goa from the next academic year 2023, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said.
This announcement is not new, a few months ago he made a similar statement. Then he said that the NEP will be implemented in the state “on a trial basis”.
After a meeting with officials of the Goa Government's Higher Education Department, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said this to reporters. The agenda of the meeting was National Education Policy and How to implement it in higher education.
The presentation was made by the higher education team, Holistically, it will be inclusive of all, including professional colleges. We have already started discussing it. Next year, NEP will be implemented at the Higher Education level" he said.
Earlier he said that some provisions of NEP will be implemented in Nursery, Lower KG and Upper KG levels, as well as across the state. He also tweeted a thread on Twitter, in which he said, “implementing and replicating the best practices” of NEP. He did this after he returned from the national conference of school education ministers held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The conference had discussed the implementation of NEP across India and was chaired by the Union Minister of Education, Dharmendra Pradhan.
