It was also directed that the students opting Mathematics Basic in Class 10 could opt Applied Mathematics in Class 11 and 12 to help them focus on their strong subjects.

Since then, CBSE has provided Sample Papers for Applied Mathematics and now through the Circular.No.Acad-54/2021, they have released Class 11 and 12 Applied Mathematics Student Support Material for the session 2021-22.

According to the Subject Matter Experts at Educart, these books provide a clear and detailed understanding of all the chapters in a way similar to NCERT books available for other Elective subjects. So, it is recommended for both classes to choose these books as their primary study material.

Now let’s have a look at what the CBSE Class 11 and 12 Applied Mathematics e-Support Material Books offer for the students.

  • Each chapter includes a comprehensive theory of all the concepts to be covered as per the prescribed CBSE Board Syllabus.
  • The theory is accompanied by several solved examples with detailed explanations.
  • Similar to NCERT Books, there are unsolved practice questions provided in the form of Exercises in between the explained concepts of a chapter.
  • Then at the end of each chapter, answers to the unsolved exercises are given.
  • Since evaluation for Applied Mathematics will also include Practicals using spreadsheets, the books conclude with a number of practical and project exercises for students.

NOTE: It is stated in the circular that students and teachers are also allowed to refer to other open sources such as newspapers, magazines and other offline/ online resources for understanding unfamiliar concepts and better understanding.
