Key Highlights of the Webinar

  • Making Real Study Plans: Teachers learned to help students create specific, step by step study plans with clear goals instead of vague schedules that don't actually work.
  • Building Exam Confidence: The session taught how to build student confidence through small wins and emotional preparation, not just endless practice tests and pressure.
  • Supporting Mental Health: Ms. Gupta stressed that teachers need to care about students' emotional well-being just as much as their academic performance during board prep.
  • Teaching as Facilitators: Teachers should guide and support students actively, not just read from textbooks or repeat notes like tape recorders.
  • Revision Done Right: The webinar explained that revision is not the same as taking an exam, students need proper structure, planning, and consistency instead of panic studying.
  • Peer Teaching Benefits: Encouraging students to teach each other helps them understand topics better and develop their own exam strategies.
  • Using Feedback Smartly: Assessments should be used to find out what students need help with, not just to give grades. Teachers learned to track feedback and give personalized tips.
  • Exam Taking Skills: Students should answer high confidence questions first and learn how to read and decode tricky questions effectively.
  • The Good Enough Rule: Perfection isn't the goal, consistent effort is. The 90% rule reminds students that doing their best is enough, they don't need to be perfect.

On 1st November 2025, Educart hosted a national CPD Teachers Training Webinar on Boards Planning & Strategy that brought together 313 teachers from across the country. The two-hour paid webinar was led by Ms. Shivani Gupta, a CBSE Resource Person, with discussions managed by Mr. Nishant Lakra.

This online session was designed to help teachers guide their students better during the stressful board exam preparation period. Ms. Gupta started by talking about something many teachers forget, that even the brightest students struggle sometimes during board prep. She explained that success isn't just about getting top marks, it's about the effort students put in and the process they follow. The webinar focused on practical strategies teachers can use right away.

  1. First, she talked about planning. Most students make general study schedules like "study math for 2 hours" but don't actually know what to study or how. Teachers learned to help students create specific plans with clear goals like "finish chapter 5 exercises" or "revise formulas from unit 3." This makes studying more focused and less overwhelming.
  2. Second, she covered confidence building. Students need small wins to feel confident, not just big scary mock tests. Teachers learned to celebrate small progress and prepare students emotionally, not just academically.
  3. Third, Ms. Gupta emphasized that teachers should be facilitators who guide students, not just people who read from textbooks. She gave practical tips on making classrooms more interactive and helping students think for themselves.

The session also covered important exam strategies. Ms. Gupta explained that revision should be structured and planned, not a last minute panic activity. She encouraged peer teaching where students explain topics to each other, which helps everyone learn better. She taught teachers how to use assessments as tools to help students improve, not just give grades. Teachers should track what each student struggles with and give them personalized advice. For the actual exam, students should focus on answering questions they're confident about first, then tackle harder ones. Throughout the webinar, Ms. Gupta kept reminding everyone about the 90% rule or Good Enough Rule, which says students don't need to be perfect, they just need to give consistent effort and do their best. The webinar combined academic techniques with psychological support, showing teachers that caring about how students feel is just as important as what they learn. Teachers left with real tools and strategies to help their students handle board exams with less stress and more confidence.
