On 5th October 2025, over 400 educators came together for the Kanpur Educators Meet 2025, a three-hour paid workshop led by Ms. Shivani Gupta, a CBSE Resource Person and Master Trainer. The event, organized by Educart and led by Mr. Nishant Lakra, focused on two big topics that every teacher deals with getting students engaged in class and talking to parents the right way.
The first session was all about student engagement. Ms. Gupta made teachers think differently about what engagement really means. It's not just counting how many hands go up or how quiet the class is. Real engagement means every student is interested, involved, and learning. Teachers learned about the Learning Pyramid, which shows that students remember way more when they do activities and discuss things instead of just listening to lectures. Ms. Gupta shared SMART strategies - simple, practical tricks teachers can use right away to make lessons more fun and interactive. The big realization was that teachers already have everything they need to engage students - like magic wands, they just need to use them the right way.
The second session focused on parent-teacher meetings. Most teachers find PTMs stressful because they don't know how to give bad news or handle upset parents. Ms. Gupta showed how to change that. She taught teachers to replace complaints with helpful feedback, choose words that build trust instead of making parents defensive, and really understand where parents are coming from. The SLP model gave teachers a clear structure for talking to parents in ways that are honest but kind. The main message was simple education isn't just about teaching facts, it's about connecting with students and their families. Teachers left feeling ready to make their classrooms more exciting and their parent meetings more meaningful.
