NCERT Class 10 Mathematics book PDF

The curriculum recommended by Indian education boards, such as the CBSE, aligns with the book. It guarantees that students are adequately prepared for their board examinations by covering all the relevant topics. After each chapter in the NCERT Class 10 Mathematics Book is a range of tasks and challenges. These problems aim to assess students' understanding and problem-solving skills. Repetition of these activities can greatly enhance one's understanding of math.

This book covers all the important topics and concepts that are prescribed in the NCERT Curriculum and CBSE Class 10 Mathematics Syllabus. In recent years, CBSE-affiliated schools and schools from other state boards have started to apply NCERT books for the academic year study of class 10. Below is easy access to the complete book pdf as well as the chapter-wise pdf to easily download. Students are literally scared of Mathematics subjects and find it difficult to study. Same as Math, Science subject requires the practice of examples and questions from Class 10 NCERT Science textbooks with a proper study timetable.

NCERT Math Class 10 NCERT Solutions  PDF

The following chapters are rationalized from the Class 10 NCERT.

  1. Constructions

Let's Recall the Chapters Of NCERT Maths Textbook Class 10

NCERT Math Textbook in PDF is a useful resource for the students who are going to appear in the new session 2024-25 as students can use this pdf at any where and any time in there own gadgets. Mathematics is a very important subject as it requires more practice and patience. So here, you can have an idea of those chapters which are quite important and needs more attention:

1. Real Numbers:

Euclid’s division algorithm and the Fundamental Theorem of Arithmetic is the important part of chapter 1. Euclid’s division algorithm says any positive integer "a" can be divided by another positive integer "b" in such a way that it leaves a remainder "r" that is smaller than "b".

2. Pair of Linear Equation:

Chapter 3 of Class 10 Math is a very tricky one, as you need to wisely solve these equations by keeping some points in your mind:
(i) the lines may intersect in a single point. In this case, the pair of equations has a unique solution (consistent pair of equations).

(ii) the lines may be parallel. In this case, the equations have no solution (inconsistent pair of equations).

(iii) the lines may be coincident. In this case, the equations have infinitely many solutions [dependent (consistent) pair of equations]

3.Arithmetic Progressions:

Chapter 5 in Mathematics seems to be very easy but actually comes with challenges, so before starting this chapter just have a crux of it in your mind. An arithmetic progression is a list of numbers in which each term is obtained by adding a fixed number to the preceding term except the first term. This fixed number is called the common difference of the AP. Remember that it can be positive, negative or zero. The general form of an AP is a, a + d, a + 2d, a + 3d, . . .
In an AP with first term a and common difference d, the nth term (or the general term) is given by an = a + (n – 1) d.

4. Triangles:

Chapter 6 also comes in the same line as its hard to understand the theorems of triangle but these three points can help you a lot to understand the complete chapters:

i) If in two triangles, corresponding angles are equal, then their corresponding sides are in the same ratio and hence the two triangles are similar (AAA similarity criterion).
ii) If in two triangles, two angles of one triangle are respectively equal to the two angles of the other triangle, then the two triangles are similar (AA similarity criterion).
iii) If in two triangles, corresponding sides are in the same ratio, then their corresponding angles are equal and hence the triangles are similar (SSS similarity criterion).
iv) If one angle of a triangle is equal to one angle of another triangle and the sides including these angles are in the same ratio (proportional), then the triangles are similar (SAS similarity criterion)

5. Introduction to Trigonometry:

The chapter 8 is seems to be tough but you won't believe, if you understand the all the formulas you can easily solve the questions:

In a right triangle ABC, right-angled at B,
sin A = side opposite to angle A/hypotenuse
cos A = side adjacent to angle A/hypotenuse
tan A = side opposite to angle A /side adjacent to angle A
The values of trigonometric ratios for angles 0°, 30°, 45°, 60° and 90°

6. Some Applications of Trigonometry:

Chapter 9 which is also known as Height and Distance which is actually a hard nut to track but keep these things in your mind to ease your questions:

(i) The line  of sight is the line drawn from the eye of an observer to the point in the object viewed by the observer.
(ii) The angle of elevation of an object viewed, is the angle formed by the line of sight with the horizontal when it is above the horizontal level, i.e., the case when we raise our head to look at the object.
(iii) The angle of depression of an object viewed, is the angle formed by the line of sight with the horizontal when it is below the horizontal level, i.e., the case when we lower our head to look at the object.

7. Areas Related to Circle:

Chapter 11 is an important chapter as it's related to area of circle. While solving these questions, you have to follow these points:

i) Length of an arc of a sector of a circle with radius r and angle with degree measure angle is angle/360 *2 pie x r.
ii) Area of a sector of a circle with radius r and angle with degree measure (angle) is angle/360 *pie x r2.
iii) Area of segment of a circle = Area of the corresponding sector – Area of the corresponding triangle.

8. Probability:

Chapter 14 denotes the chances and assumptions of certain events, so going through these questions, always read some important tricks to solve it:

1. The theoretical (classical) probability of an event E, written as P(E), is defined as
P (E) = Number of outcomes favorable to E / Number of all possible outcomes of the experiment where we assume that the outcomes of the experiment are equally likely.
2. The probability of a sure event (or certain event) is 1.
3. The probability of an impossible event is 0.

How to Prepare from NCERT Class 10 Mathematics book Effectively?

Math is amongst the subject that student fears the most and runs away from it. The reason for the math phobia is the complex problems, lots of formulas, and the pre-built notion of it being the most difficult subject. Well, running away from fear is never a solution especially since students have to face it at least till Class 10 so why not prepare for it well?

NCERT is the first preference when any student starts preparing for the Mathematics board exam. Practicing NCERT is necessary for overall understanding of the concepts, strengthening the base, and getting an idea of what kind of questions students might face in the final board exams.

The section below will cover the systematic approach to how students can prepare for NCERT Mathematics book class 10 effectively and score their dream marks.

  1. Review the Syllabus

The very first step is to know what a student is supposed to study and where to start before directly jumping on the questions practicing sessions. Students can download the Class 10 Math syllabus from the official site or have access to the syllabus from this link. Evaluate the whole syllabus for the changes made whether it’s the inclusion of any chapter or deletion of the topic.

  1. Curate a Study Plan

After reviewing the syllabus thoroughly, note down all the chapters with maximum marks weightage, complex chapters like integration, and chapters with the least weightage. Allow sufficient time for every topic and move on to the next topic once that topic is completely revised.

  1. NCERT Topics: Kickstart the Chapter Understanding

NCERT is the best resource to start preparing for any chapter. Start understanding the basics of the topics and note down every important theorem, formula, short trick, and important point mentioned in the chapter. Watch the videos to get a clear understanding of the chapter.

  1. Start Practicing NCERT Questions

Most chances include questions coming directly from the NCERT. Students can use notes to solve the questions. Read the questions carefully and understand what is given and what it is asking for. Then take a step-wise approach to get the solutions. Cross-check the solutions and evaluate your understanding of the chapter. Students can also find NCERT Solutions for Class 10 Math at Educart.

Understanding math may seem like a tedious task but practicing it regularly will help in getting a grip on the subject and soon you will find the subject easy. Continuous practice can help students achieve their dream marks.
