 A reflex is a quick, automatic response to a stimulus without thinking.

How Reflex Works

  • Stimulus detected by sensory neurons.
  • Signal sent to spinal cord.
  • Interneuron processes it.
  • Motor neurons activate muscle to respond immediately. 

Example: Touching a hot plate - pull hand back instantly.
