Not every couple finds it easy to have a baby naturally, and that’s completely okay - medical science today offers plenty of safe options. Depending on whether the problem is with the male, female, or both partners, doctors suggest different treatments.
- IVF (In vitro fertilization): Probably the most common. The egg and sperm are combined in a lab dish, and the embryo is placed into the mother’s uterus.
- Artificial insemination: Sperm is directly introduced into the uterus to increase chances of pregnancy.
- ICSI (Intracytoplasmic sperm injection): A single sperm is injected into an egg, usually when sperm count is very low.
- Surrogacy: If a woman can’t carry a baby, another woman (a surrogate) carries the child on the couple’s behalf.
- Hormonal treatments: Some women can’t ovulate regularly, so medicines or injections help release eggs.
