Question:

If the K and L shells of an atom are full, then what would be the total number of electrons in the atom?

Answer:

Maximum number of electrons that can occupy the K shell =2

Maximum number of electrons that can occupy the L shell =8

Total number of electrons in the atom =2+8=10

If the K and L shells of an atom are full, then there would be 10 electrons in the atom.
