HIV spreads only through certain body fluids from an infected person. It cannot spread by casual touch or sharing food.

Main Transmission Routes

• Unprotected sexual contact with an infected person.
• Sharing needles/syringes.
• Blood transfusion with infected blood.
• From mother to child during pregnancy, childbirth, or breastfeeding.
