The infection spreads when you accidentally swallow the parasite’s cysts (tiny protective forms) through contaminated food or water. Basically, it’s a hygiene-related disease.

How It Spreads

• Drinking unboiled or unfiltered water.
• Eating food handled by someone with unwashed hands.
• Consuming vegetables/fruits washed in dirty water.
• Flies and insects sitting on food can also transfer cysts.

So, poor hygiene = easy entry for the parasite.
