What is Johnsy’s illness? What can cure her, the medicine or the willingness to live?

Answer:

Johnsy falls ill with pneumonia. She keeps lying in her bed for many days. During this, she has a fancy that she will die when the last leaf-on the ivy creeper falls. The treatment given by the doctor proves useless because she is expecting death anytime. Not medicine but the willingness to live can cure her.
