Discrimination is the act of drawing unfair distinctions between people based on the groups, classes, or other categories to which they belong. For example, people may face discrimination based on their ethnicity, gender, age, religion, or sexual orientation, among other factors. The various examples of social discrimination in the sphere of sports are as follows :

(i) A few decades ago, in cricket, the Blacks were restricted from turning out to be captain of the South-African teams.

(ii)Games like Polo (A horseback ball game) and Golf are beyond the reach of poor people.

(iii)Inequality in funding and facilities can be seen towards female teams in comparison to male teams.
