Question:

Locate the following rational numbers on the number line.

(A) 0.532

(B) 1.15‾1.1\overline{5}

Answer: Verified
(A) $0.532$ : $\leftarrow$ $-1010.532$

(B) 1.15‾=1.1555...=1+(0.1+0.0555...)(B) \ 1.1\overline{5} = 1.1555... = 1 + (0.1 + 0.0555...)

=1+0.1+118=1+990+590=1+1490= 1 + 0.1 + \frac{1}{18} = 1 + \frac{9}{90} + \frac{5}{90} = 1 + \frac{14}{90}

=10490=5245.= \frac{104}{90} = \frac{52}{45}.

Locate the point 5245=1.1555...\frac{52}{45} = 1.1555... between 1.15 and 1.16, slightly beyond 1.15.
