P   E   A   C   E

Leela draws a card without looking.

(A) What is the probability that it is a P, E or C?

(B) What is the probability that it is not an E?

Answer: Verified

A) Letters on cards: {P, E, A, C, E}.

Total = 5 cards.

Favourable: 1 P + 2 E + 1 C = 4 cards.

P(P,E,or C)=45P(P, E, \text{or } C) = \frac{4}{5}

(B) Non-E letters: P, A, C → 3 cards.

P(not E)=35P(\text{not } E) = \frac{3}{5}
