Show the formation of the following molecules:

(A) Carbon dioxide (CO₂)

(B) Hydrogen sulfide (H₂S)

(A) Carbon has 4 valence electrons and each oxygen has 6 valence electrons. Carbon shares two pairs of electrons with each oxygen atom, forming two double covalent bonds.

(B) Sulfur has 6 valence electrons and each hydrogen has 1 valence electron. Sulfur shares one electron each with two hydrogen atoms, forming two single covalent bonds.
