Question:

How many circles pass through two points on a plane?                                                                                              [Page No. 95]

Answer: Verified

Infinitely many circles pass through two given points A and B. The centre of any circle through A and B must be equidistant from A and B, so it lies on the perpendicular bisector of AB. Every point of that line can serve as a centre, giving a different circle through A and B, and a line contains infinitely many points.
Hence there are infinitely many such circles.
