Question:

Quadrilateral PQRSPQRS is inscribed in a circle. If P=(2x+10)\angle P = (2x + 10)^{\circ} and R=(3x20)\angle R = (3x - 20)^{\circ}, find the value of xx and the measures of P\angle P and R\angle R.

Answer: Verified

Opposite angles of a cyclic quadrilateral sum to 180180^\circ.
P+R=180\angle P + \angle R = 180^{\circ} (2x+10)+(3x20)=180(2x + 10) + (3x - 20) = 180     5x10=180\implies 5x - 10 = 180     5x=190\implies 5x = 190     x=38\implies x = 38

Now,
P=2(38)+10=86\angle P = 2(38) + 10 = 86^\circ R=3(38)20\angle R = 3(38) - 20 =11420\quad = 114 - 20 =94\quad = 94^\circ
