Explain why roads on hills are built to wind around in gentle slopes rather than going straight up? [Pg. No. 132]

Roads on hills are built with gentle slopes because it becomes easier for vehicles to move upward gradually. A steep straight road would require a much larger force to climb against gravity. The winding path reduces the slope, making driving safer and requiring less effort and power.
