Are the doors in your school suitable for people in wheelchairs? [Page No. 5]

Answer: Verified

A door is suitable for a wheelchair if its clear opening is at least 32 inches (about 815 mm) wide. To check your school doors, measure the actual opening when the door is fully open. If it is 32 inches or more and there are no steps or raised thresholds, the door is wheelchair friendly. If it is narrower, it may be difficult for a wheelchair user to pass through.
