Designing Competency Based Assessments

The focus was shifted from rote memorisation to competency-based assessment, with an emphasis on conceptual understanding and the application of knowledge in real-life contexts. Assessments were designed to align with learning outcomes and classroom objectives, ensuring that they effectively measured students’ understanding and competencies.

Teachers were actively engaged in hands-on assessment design and collaborative classroom discussions. Their assessment literacy was strengthened through practical classroom examples, enabling them to develop and implement more meaningful, learner-centred assessment practices.
