Question:

What will be the height of the water at the end of 5 months (Refer to Example 10 on NCERT page no. 24)?                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   [Page No. 25]

Answer: Verified

The height function is h(t)=30.5th(t) = 3 - 0.5t.

For t=5t = 5:

30.5×5=32.5=0.5 m.3 - 0.5 \times 5 = 3 - 2.5 = 0.5 \text{ m}.

So, after 5 months the water height is 0.5 m. Because the height falls by a fixed 0.5 m each month, this is linear decay.
