The area of a right-angled triangle is 54 sq. cm. One of its legs has length 12 cm. Find its perimeter.

Answer: Verified

Given, Area=54 cm2\text{Area} = 54 \text{ cm}^2

Leg1=12 cm\text{Leg}_1 = 12 \text{ cm}

Area=12×Leg1×Leg2\text{Area}=\frac{1}{2}\times\text{Leg}_1\times\text{Leg}_2

54=12×12×Leg254=\frac{1}{2}\times12\times\text{Leg}_2

Leg2=9 cm\text{Leg}_2 = 9 \text{ cm}

Hypotenuse=122+92\text{Hypotenuse} = \sqrt{12^2 + 9^2}

=144+81= \sqrt{144 + 81}

=225= \sqrt{225}

=15 cm= 15 \text{ cm}

Perimeter=12+9+15\text{Perimeter} = 12 + 9 + 15

=36 cm= 36 \text{ cm}
