Find the value of the quadratic polynomial 7s24s+67s^{2} - 4s + 6 if:

(A) s=0s = 0 (B) s=3s = -3 (C) s=4s = 4. [Page No. 21]

Answer: Verified

(A) At s=0s = 0, p(0)=7(0)24(0)+6=00+6=6p(0) = 7(0)^{2} - 4(0) + 6 = 0 - 0 + 6 = 6

(B) At s=3s = -3, p(3)=7(3)24(3)+6p(-3) = 7(-3)^{2} - 4(-3) + 6

= 7(9) + 12 + 6

= 63 + 18 = 81

(C) At s=4s = 4, p(4)=7(4)24(4)+6p(4) = 7(4)^{2} - 4(4) + 6

= 7(16) - 16 + 6

= 112 - 10 = 102
