Question:

Find the value of the linear polynomial 5x−35x - 3 if:

(A) x=0x = 0 (B) x=−1x = -1 (C) x=2x = 2 [Page No. 21]

Answer: Verified

(A) At x=0x = 0, p(0)=5(0)−3=−3p(0) = 5(0) - 3 = -3

(B) At x=−1x = -1, p(−1)=5(−1)−3=−5−3=−8p(-1) = 5(-1) - 3 = -5 - 3 = -8

(C) At x=2x = 2, p(2)=5(2)−3=10−3=7p(2) = 5(2) - 3 = 10 - 3 = 7
