A retest of the CUET-UG (Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduates) by NTA will be conducted from July 15th, 2024, to July 19th, 2024. This re-examination is for those candidates who faced issues during the initial exam, especially technical faults.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the provisional answer key on July 8 for the CUET-UG 2024 exam, which was previously held. Candidates have the time to challenge the answers until 6 p.m. on July 9. A panel of experts will go through these challenges, and final reports will be based on the revised answer key.
3. Enter your “Application Number” and “Date of Birth” to download the provisional answer key.
Complaints that were submitted by June 30 by the candidates will be thoroughly investigated. If these complaints are presumed to be valid, the affected candidate will then be eligible to appear for the retest on the given dates. The NTA did acknowledge that there were technical issues and a loss of time at some exam centres.
This year, the number of appearing candidates who aimed to secure a position in various undergraduate programmes across 261 universities crossed 13.4 lakhs. The previously taken exam faced some issues and technical glitches, especially in Delhi, which led to a last-minute rescheduling of the examination.
The NTA previously aimed to conduct the CUET-UG Exam over 7 days, making sure that all exams were conducted and finished in a single shift to avoid score normalization. However, all the plans were disturbed by the glitches and issues at that time. So this time, the agency is focused on ensuring a smoother than before retest procedure.
This announcement is coming from the inspection of other competitive examinations in India, like the NEET and UGC NET exams, which also faced certain allegations of irregularities, which led to an investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
As a consequence of these allegations, the NTA has seen leadership changes, with former ISRO chief R. Radhakrishnan appointed to make sure that the exams are conducted fairly and squarely.
We advise candidates to visit the official NTA website for more information and updates.
